Forest Acres, A Beauty Outside Of Columbia 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 28, 2018) Living in Forest Acres is like embracing the beauty of nature while getting the convenience of the SC capital. The town is under 10 minutes away from Columbia in usual traffic, making commutes easy.

Hurricanes are dangerous, but some of my favorite memories of nature are being ...Read More out just before the storm. The high winds, the electrified skies, and the fresh air with just enough water droplets to give a cool kiss as you inhale.

Forest Acres in in a lucky area that has a small amount of lake exposure, along with enough open ground to allow wind to pass through. The surrounding woods are sparse enough to let the wind pass through for a grand chorus on any given evening, and while that's a storm hazard, most of the time it's just beautiful to hear.

The best areas in Forest Acres are near Forest Lake and the downtown area. You can find a lot of great restaurants Highway 12/Forest Drive, and the variety is all over the place. Italian food, Norwegian presentation dishes, great Chinese food, American burger joints and grills, sizzling Mexican food, and even an amazing drive-in restaurant. Read Less
