This is where FUNimation is located... But overall, however, good city in Texas. User Rating 5 rating By Anonymous ( Jan 24, 2020) I'd love to work get out of Kansas City, and work at FUNimation some day, a great place which brings dubbed anime to us here in the states, but from what the reviews say, it may not be the best place to live in. I'm seldom willing to live where people aren't happy or even pay att ...Read More ention to their surroundings when it comes to city needs and livability. So my ideal place to live may be Fort Worth or somewhere on the west part of Dallas. I'm comfortable here in Kansas City where I currently live for a while or so for temporary living before I eventually venture out on my own and to live by myself if possible... however those are to be seen if they're feasible. Flower Mound's house cost of living must really suck, but the crime rate is low and wonderful, job employment is fantastic, schools remain great, and the weather here is decent. My goal in my life is to work either at the Apple headquarters in Cupertino, north California, and move to San Jose (Palo Alto?) and then work in the Apple HQ, or to move to Texas and work at FUNimation instead and live very close, live Irving, Dallas, or Fort Worth. Basically, this city is near a major city (Fort Wotrh-Dallas) that has the amenities, but Flower Mound does not. I'd consider myself fairly lucky if I had to be righteous enough to live here with nothing else in mind. That's just my two cents worth. Read Less

Good schools but little diversity/culture User Rating 3.5 rating By WestCoast101 ( Jan 07, 2013) Flower Mound is safe, with good (not great) schools and quiet family communities. If that is all you are looking for in a city then FM may be perfect for you.

I have to disagree with this website's "average summer temperature" of 82 degrees. NO WAY. Just last summer we had ov

I consider myself somewhat of a food snob so I have to say the restaurant selections in FM is subpar. If you are OK with fast food and chain restaurants then it may not be an issue for you. We find ourselves driving 30-60 minutes for a nice meal with some authenticity/variety. For the higher rent/mortgage expenses there should be easy access to so much more without having to drive to Dallas or Fort Worth.

Speaking of Dallas/Fort Worth, Flower Mound is about equidistant from the 2 which can be a big plus for job prospects. It is not the most ideal commute but is doable. Unfortunately, public transportation falls desperately short so you will likely be driving yourself anywhere you need to go. And the traffic here is horrendous. The drivers are not courteous at all. Don't believe me? Google worst places to drive survey 2007 and you will see DFW ranked #2, second only to NYC. Seriously, the drivers here would sooner let you crash into a wall then let you merge. I've never seen anything like it.

I find the schools highly segregated in FM (and TX in general). I am a Caucasian and still find it odd that nearly 97% of my son's school is white. I prefer more diversity, as how does one become culturally competent otherwise? Also if you are not a particularly religious family you (or your children) may be somewhat of an outcast. I find FM families to have higher than average religiosity. These concepts also find their way into public schools.

Overall FM is a good community but we are researching options for relocation. Read Less
