Florence is not a city of excess, but it is a city that has a little bit of everything you need. If you are looking for a fast-paced city, this is not the place for you. Everything and everyone is laid back. It is often said that this is not a city for college graduates who are looking for excitement and opportunities fresh out of school, but it is a great place to raise a family and to retire.

Florence is known for its rich history such as the fact that the city was developed as the junction of three major railroad lines. There are many art galleries and museums such as The War Between the States Museum and the Florence County Museum. The Florence Civic Center hosts many events such as concerts, carnivals, and more.
