Steady Decline Despite 'Infill' 2 rating By Anonymous ( Nov 15, 2021) In the 10 years we have lived here, crime has steadily increased, and anyone unfortunate enough to not have high fences and locked dates will find themselves frequent targets of yard-thefts, break-and-enters, vehicle break-ins, and mail theft/porch-pirates. The once-lovely 'matur ...Read More e' neighbourhood has an increasing number of run-down houses as absentee speculators have bought up the formerly-affordable properties but then failed to maintain them, resulting in high turnover, attracting squatters and enabling drug-houses. The speculators eventually tear down the old character homes and have erected dozens of 'infill' duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes, all laughably unaffordable, most sitting empty after months or years 'on the market' but still driving up the overall neighbourhood 'market value' so that even the worst-maintained rentals are now unaffordable. The empty speculator-units and high rental turnover of the slumlord-owned properties translate to an increasing lack of community cohesion and stability. Read Less
