City of Crime and New Life!! 2.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) The town of East St. Louis, Illinois worries me just a bit. With it being located directly across the Mississippi River from St. Louis Missouri there are some concerns. This town has been restructured multiple times and a few of the areas have high crime rates. Some good comes ou ...Read More t of the city as well.

With the bad reputation that this city holds, pursuing the redeveloped portions of the city. Local jobs are taken by residents and there does not seem to be much opportunity for advancement. Shopping is local to the area and the nightlife seems to be non existent. The city of champions is the cities name that they have given themselves.

Historically, there are still remnants of the destruction in East St. Louis from prior years. The homeless use this area to live in and create a life. This city is not a place that I would recommend for starting a family and looking for advances in your career. Read Less
