This neighborhood is full of classic Beaverdale brick homes, but also all different syles of homes both old and new. It is definately NOT a cookie-cutter neighborhood! The homes are well cared for. It is a mix of working class and executive people and families.

.it's an established neighborhood with good schools and friendly people. Housing is reasonably priced and there are tons of activities, shopping and places to eat. The big event each Fall is the Beaverdale Fall Festival with parades, and concerts, and activities for kids.
My husband grew up in this neighborhood and we now live there as do our grown children. Beaverdale is a safe neighborhood and I highly recommend it if you are new to Des Moines and are not sure which neighborhood to go to.
