College Park - more than a College Town User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) College Park, Maryland is known for the sprawling campus of the University of Maryland, hence the name. The top notch university is located in the heart of the town, and is surrounded by beautiful landscaping and well kept manicured lawns. There's plenty of reasonably priced housing for students and other residents throughout the town. Living in College Park gives you the benefits of a metropolitan area without the drawbacks, like a high crime rate. Shopping malls, theatres, and great restaurants abound in the town and neighboring Hyattsville, where an arts district is located. Suburbia is all around for those that prefer peace and quiet.

I really enjoyed my time living in College Park. I was fortunate to locate employment in the town while attending the university. There are many small and mid-size companies in addition to the university, that offer employment. Big name retailers include IKEA, Best Buy, and Home Depot. Read Less
