City of Celina 0.5 rating By Mbarrett67 ( Jan 07, 2017) The City of Celina has no regard for it's current homeowners nor their properties. It has the highest water rates around and does nothing about it. Because of Celina's inability to have planned for it's future growth, the residents here have been paying the price for their mist ...Read More akes for years. And if the water rates were not high enough, then they layer on additional fees for water runoff...really. It is still the good ole boy system here which doesn't work anymore and needs to come to an end. If you are considering moving to one of their big new developments like Light Farms (which btw has double the water rates as those who live in the city limits and it sits next to the railroad tracks...hopefully you don't mind train whistles blowing at 2:00 am in the morning every night) or Mustang Lakes (which is located off the gravel truck super highway...FM 1461...drive on that road and take your life in your own hands) run away as fast as you can! The only good thing about these developments is that you will be in the Prosper ISD BUT be prepared at some point to be thrown into Celina ISD. It's just a matter of time. And when it happens, YOU WILL NOT HAVE A SAY! THEY WILL NOT LISTEN! THEY DO NOT CARE! Trust me you will be sorry if you move to Celina. The biggest mistake I ever made was moving to this city. I moved here 4 years ago and didn't know Celina was like this. I am writing this in the hope that other people will not make the same mistake that I did. I wish I would have known but I didn't and sadly I am now seriously contemplating moving from my dream home I had built because of The City of Celina. Read Less
