A Great Suburb of Chicago 4 rating By Anonymous ( Apr 26, 2018) I've been living in Carol Stream for about four years now and I really like it! One thing I really love about it is the short commute to the metra that takes you to Ogilvie Transportation Center in downtown Chicago. In the summers Carol Stream plans a fourth of July parade and fi ...Read More reworks and the park district has tons of events so it's a great place to raise kids and I've always felt safe living here.

Some of the best places in Carol Stream are all the restaurants and grocery stores. Carol Stream has a huge Caputo's and Mariano's for grocery shopping and the BEST sandwich shop called Augustino's. It doesn't have a ton of bars or busy night life so I usually go to the neighboring towns to get drinks with my friends. The best areas in Carol Stream are around North Avenue where most of the restaurants are and has easy access to the highway.

Winters in Illinois are intense if your not from the Midwest and used to it. Temperatures in January are only around 10-20 degrees but the rest of the seasons are beautiful and Carol Stream does a good job of clearing the streets of snow in the winter. Read Less
