Babylon is well known to many due to the presence of a major Long Island Railroad named after it. While this shouldn’t be ignored, as it adds some major benefits and convenience to commuters, it is hardly a blip of what makes Babylon such a great place to live.

cated in Suffolk town and does have a train line on the LIRR named after it. This means that there are much more frequent trains to the city that are express and that the train line is not as long as others in the same location, despite the significant distance. Further, since it is the first stop, you can always get a seat.
Babylon has a good school district and lots of nice parks. Argyle lake is located on Merrick road and right near the high school and train station. It is a nice park with a small playground and waling or biking path. While Argyle park can get crowded, it is a beautiful area to relax or walk your dog. Belmont State Park is larger and more extensive and located in West Babylon. Also focused on a lake, there are extensive playgrounds, barbecue pits, and hiking trails.
Babylon has decent, but not spectacular shopping and dining options. Further, it is a safe, clean and well-managed community. Would highly recommend Babylon to anyone looking to move to Western Suffolk county.
