Algonquin: Quaint Living User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Algonquin, IL is situated as one of the farthest of the northwest suburbs of Chicago. It boasts an excellent public school system, and the crime is low especially compared to other surrounding suburbs. Algonquin is further out so it's possible to encounter some country folk, but ...Read More they're kind and welcoming. Nightlife is decent, but of course can't be compared to the nightlife of Chicago. However, Algonquin has other entertainment and shopping that is sure to make people of all ages happy.

Algonquin's main shopping mall, Algonquin Commons, has plenty of stores to suit everyone's needs. Algonquin is safe, well policed, and is overall a pleasant suburb. This city has the convenience of a more urban city like Chicago or the closer suburbs, but maintains its rural roots.

The weather in Algonquin can be compared to that of most of the Midwest. Winters are snowy and cold, and summers are hot and humid.

Overall, Algonquin is an excellent choice for those looking to raise a family or those who just want to live in a safe and fun city. Read Less
