The city is known for its many shops, first-class public education, and employment opportunities. Addison has many shopping destinations including many national big box stores and local clothing stores. There are no less than a dozen shopping centers located in the city including the Green Meadows Shopping Center. The state's largest mall, the Woodfield Mall, is located just 15 minutes away in neighboring Shaumburg.

Addison is known for its public school system that is ranked as one of the best in the state of Illinois. The city has one high school, the Addison Trail High School, as well as one junior high school, Indian Trail Junior High. The city is also home to DeVry University-Addison and Chamberlain College of Nursing. The city's largest employer is the United Parcel Service. Read Less
