North Charleston is not a place recommended for starting over in life. You will be followed by weird people. At night it gets to be unsafe. It's like all places in America whenever a 'new' resident shows up, but I grew up here and haven't been back in many years. All of these people are strangers and they actually believe this place literally belongs to them. The traffic has gotten out of hand because of the population swell.
My husband and I decide to take a different route with our vacation this year and go somewhere that we could relax and breath for a change. Instead of the usual get there and run, run, run to see and do everything we could in the short time that we have each year. A friend of my Mothers suggested North Charleston, South Carolina, her birth place. So I got on the web and sure enough, it seemed perfect!
During our stay in North Charleston we stayed at the Cabell House, Bed and Breakfast which is absolutely gorgeous. On our fist day in North Charleston we explored the city on foot. Visiting several art galleries and antique shops. We had lunch Poogan's Porch a charming restaurant. We had Fried Alligator and fried green tomatoes. Talk about Southern Comfort!
After a day of exploring the city we were ready to relax, but still too excited to sleep. So we decided to go out for drinks. Someone recommended the Habana Club, so we gave it a try. It was all that he had said and more. The service was excellent and the drinks splendid. The Habana Club was exactly what we needed.
