It is not unusual for me to walk into my office on a Monday morning and find a plane ticket on my desk. In May 2009, I was sent to Lafayette on business. I stayed at the Hilton Lafayette hotel. I had a lovely view of the Vermilion River from my room. The room was very clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the 24-hour fitness center and the wireless internet access. The down-filled comforter and granite bathroom left me feeling pampered.
The restaurant experience is reason enough to visit the city of Lafayette. A business associate and I went to a drive-thru crawfish shop, ordered a sack of crawfish and veggies, and enjoyed it atop a picnic table underneath a shady oak tree in Girard Park. I must have gained 10 pounds eating my way through Lafayette! Something else you don't want to miss is the plate lunch. My Gram can cook, but the chicken with rice and gravy from Country Cuisine cannot be beat!
The city of Lafayette has something for everyone. History, music, art, food...you name it. My short trip definitely left me wanting more. Hey Lafayette...I promise, I'll be back!
