Dash Point State Park, a waterfront park on Puget Sound, offers picnic and camping areas, beachcombing, boating, and hiking. Mount Rainier, less than an hour away by car, offers downhill and cross-country skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer.

Hardcore urbanites will likely be less than thrilled with the nightlife available in Federal Way. However, there are several attractive options for entertainment.
