As a professional rodeo cowboy I have traveled from coast to coast and there are many states that I have great affinities for. Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Arizona are several of my favorites for their beautiful scenery, but for the warmth of the people and down home atmosphere, Oklahoma is my favorite and Broken Arrow tops the list. Broken Arrow, Oklahoma lies in the northeastern part of the state and although not blessed with scenic mountains, lakes and streams, the city's tree lined streets give it a quaint and homey ambiance. There's plenty to do for the visitor from art museums, a safari animal sanctuary, and the town playhouse to the Bluebell ice cream factory. The city hosts the a professional rodeo in June. Broken Arrow hosts accommodations from bed and breakfasts to rooming houses and well-appointed hotels and for a prairie city the choices of eateries are quite international with restaurants offering Asian, Mexican, Oriental and Italian cuisine. Although Broken Arrow may not be a primary destination for the traveler, as a stopover, it's hard to beat for the friendly and welcoming small city (town) atmosphere.
