Dismal Cataclysmic Abilene 1 rating By Anonymous ( May 26, 2019) People are extremely rude here, and openly prejudiced. I would say the word is Katagelasticism. Unfortunately, those who think themselves to be better than others. ...Read More Read Less
Nothing here for anyone 0.5 rating By parhetic ( Apr 27, 2018) No nightlife. No outdoor activity. No decent clubs, places to shop or anything for the kids. Roads here are terrible and full of potholes, the planes from the air base are so loud you wonder why you moved here. There’s nothing to do but go to church, go eat crappy fast food, or ...Read More buy beer and stay home. The lake near here is muddy and smells bad. The few parks are ugly and have nothing to offer. Abilene = DRABILENE 0.5 rating By GracefulGhost ( Jun 24, 2016) If you like awful tasting food, very little to do, around a lot of nice people, Abilene is the place for you. Historic Abilene, Texas 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 03, 2010) While traveling out west last summer we decided to make a day stop in the city of Abilene, Texas. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised with all the historical sites and attractions the city had to offer. There were several interesting things to see and do.

...Read More r first place to visit in Abilene was the downtown area. There were three great museums, the 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum, Frontier Texas and the Grace Museum, all within walking distance of each other. Our favorite was Frontier Texas as it offered panoramic scenes of the real old west.

In the afternoon we visited the Bone Gap Historic Village. This was really a treat as the entire village was like going back in time. It was interesting to see how it would be to live in the early nineteen hundreds.

We saw many interesting shops and restaurants in Abilene, too. I also noticed that there was a city zoo, several golf courses and the Ball Ranch dinner Theatre. We now wish we would have made more time for our visit there. I hope to return someday and enjoy more of everything Abilene has to offer. Read Less
