It's ok, but 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 02, 2021) It's a decent small city, if your craving anything of real interest not likely to find much here, eating out if your taste run the chain restaurants your in luck in spades, no shortage of them, to be fair there are a few local shops that tend to come and go. Nashua strives to be ...Read More a BIG city, sadly the local politicians fail to see it's really a bedroom community, Manchester to the North and Boston a little further Southeast makes it hard for Nashua to grow out of the big town feel. What Nashua lacks for in BIG City feel and good dining out is made up for with lot's of retail, there aren't 1 but 2 major shopping venues one to serve the Mass border the other to serve the other Mass border, I regress but if you feel the need to be a Masshole but don't want the baggage Nashua should suffice and you can proudly claim your a NH resident, many of them do the same thing. Nashua is a fairly safe city, major crime events are rare, there is a fairly large PD, the biggest crime problem is one that seems fairly common everywhere, drivers just don't give a crap, speeding, rude, pretty much like everywhere else.
If you want to raise your kids in a fairly clean city with ok schools (Options Private), shopping can't get anymore convenient, and if it's not in Nashua, there's always Manchester 12 Miles North, Salem 15 Miles West, Boston 45 Miles Southeast, the Ocean about an hour, the lakes about 1.5, the mountains 1.5-2, NY City 4 hours+-, yea we want to go somewhere else but when all is said it's hard to give up the conveniences, the Little City Big Town has to offer. But one thing, and no matter how it's summed up WINTER does really suck, if you want to live here adopt a winter pass time, Skiing, Snow Shoeing, Snow Mobile, Ice Skate, otherwise winter can be downright depressing........... Stay away from this place 0.5 rating By Marc mclellan ( Oct 18, 2016) Trash removal awful, all night parties unchecked, parking awful, credit card #'s lifted and food poisoning and objects in food (piece of thin metal at Italian restaurant on Daniel Webster highway). Folks with a giant confederate flag in the back of a pick up going through the nei ...Read More ghborhood. Nazi memorabilia in the consignment shops. My first 6 months. Unless you are white and over 65, this is every evil that you can imagine. The no taxes is completely false. These folks call them fees, they are taxes. Everything from car to home ownership is punished. It is literally a STATE of denial. Business friendly means no service, no means of remediation, little to no consequence for bad service. We hired from Massachusetts after horrible experience with nh contractors. I also dine out in Massachusetts. Save your money and go to southern New England. New Hampshire and Maine are gone, check back after the boomers kick it, about 20-25 years. Read Less
Great Family Atmosphere: Nashua, NH 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 07, 2010) Twenty-five years ago, there were few good meals to be had in Nashua, New Hampshire. You were just far enough from Boston to feel isolated, and the nightlife was non-existent. Things have certainly changed. Nashua is the only city in the U.S. to have been twice named "The Best Pl ...Read More ace to Live in America" by Money Magazine, and it's no wonder. Crime is almost non-existent, the downtown has been beautifully renovated, and there are actually some good restaurants now! What's more, the population has shifted decisively in the direction of hip and modern, as Massachusetts transplants have come north in search of a better quality of life for themselves and their families. In 2009 Nashua was named one of America's "Best Places to Raise Your Kids" by Bloomberg's Businessweek.

Three of my favorite Nashua restaurants are Lui Lui on Daniel Webster Highway, Martha's on Main Street, and Chen Yang Li on Amherst Street. There is a beautiful park (Greeley Park) right downtown that features summer performances and art shows, and at Mine Falls Park you can boat in the summer and cross-country ski in the winter. Nashua offers great family atmosphere without being dull. The city of Nashua is definitely worth considering for your next vacation destination or for permanent relocation. Read Less
