The caverns show of thousands of years of natural mineral formations like stalactites and stalagmites as well as harboring precious stones. Archaeology of the site has shown that the cavern site was occupied as far back as 12,000 years ago before the entrance to the site became clogged up and was not found again until 1960. Tours on the site begin about every 40 minutes and there are a variety of tours to choose from that vary from which section of the cavern system is seen to length and whether or not a need for climbing gear is required. Tours start at $18.99 for adults and for $10.99 for children over the age of three up to eleven. Natural Bridge Caverns is open year round.

Travis, who fought bravely against Santa Ana's army in 1836. Once the Alamo's ownership transferred from the Catholic Church to the state of Texas, the site underwent several rounds of renovations. The Alamo is one of the most popular historic sites in the state of Texas, and nearly 4 million vistitors can view Texas history exhibits at the Shrine, Long Barrack Museum, and Gift Museum. The complex is also home to the beautiful Riverwalk and Alamo Gardens.
