Ok, I Guess 2.5 rating By FrasierID ( Nov 20, 2019) Like most of the State of Alabama, with the possible exception of Huntsville, Tuscaloosa lives or dies on the basis of how the University of Alabama's (or Auburn's) football team is doing. The downtown is certainly currently thriving with lots of building of condos, pretty good r ...Read More estaurants, shops, etc. It's an ok place, I suppose. I just don't care for their football team, its fans, or the deification of college football coaches, no matter the team. There is little else as a draw, frankly, but what it has is certainly pretty nice right now. Sort of an isolated Mid-Southern town. Read Less
Avoid this place 1 rating By Ihatetuscaloosa10 ( Dec 10, 2016) Tuscaloosa has to be the worst place in America they can not clear wrecks on an interstate in fact I'm sitting in it now, people here don't move with a purpose and should leave as well, the police force don't do anything, EMS performs emergency lobotomies on the rest of these r ...Read More e**rds here because people in Alabama don't understand the concept of driving Read Less
Tuscaloosa, AL - Let's Go Bama-Rolltide!!! 4 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 28, 2010) I once lived in Tuscaloosa, AL where I attended college at the University of Alabama. Each year I return for their Homecoming game, Go Bama-ROLLTIDE! Just thinking about it, I can smell the Fall leaves, taking me back as I was there now. Tuscaloosa is in west Central Alabama on t ...Read More he Black Warrior River, and this area is also known as the Bible Belt of the South. Of course, Tuscaloosa is a University town, but now with the Mercedes Benz plant recently moving in, Tuscaloosa has been a city with significant growth.

When visiting the city make sure to take a tour of both Historic Downtown Tuscaloosa with all the ecliptic shops and antiques then a visit to University of Alabama, where you will also explore the Paul Bryant Museum. Take a tranquil cruise down the Black Warrior River on the Bama Belle, a paddle-wheel boat. You must visit Dreamland Bar-B-que before leaving. Their signature sauce just dances on your tongue, and you must try 6 Dozen Granny Hester's Sweet Potato Biscuits. No wonder Tuscaloosa has been on Money's list of one of the Best Cities To Live.
