Best town for our kids schooling... Dear friends, After a long time living overseas we have decided to move back to Boston north shore and we used To live in n reading. Now looking for an intellectual town with good public schools for our 2nd and 6th grade kids. Where would you recommend ? Our top 4 is: Lexington, Belmont, Arlington and Winchester... What do you say ? Best

Hi MiBoNeTa, There's a lot to like about all those cities, and if we're sorting by school ratings, Lexington High was just recently awarded the 2014 #2 spot among all Greater Boston public schools according to Boston Magazine. You can see where the other towns fell on the list at the following link. http://www.bostonmagazine.com/best-public-schools-boston-2014-top-50/. A lot of people pay big money to send their kids to a certain private school in Belmont, but the word is that Winchester High School actually sends more kids off to Ivy League schools than they do. Those details may or may not be the most important considerations to every family though. My advice for deciding on schools: Choose the town with the High School that will suit your needs best, and drill down into which elementary schools you like best from there.
