Falls Park on the ReedyAttractions » Parks & Nature601 S Main Street, 29601View siteFalls Park on the Reedy is a city park in downtown Greenville in South Carolina. It is twenty six acres big and features the Liberty Bridge. The Liberty Bridge is the focal point of the park and cost $4.5 million to build. Sites for tourists include the Reedy River and its beautiful waterfalls. There are also several garden rooms with colorful seasonal displays and well thought out artistic designs. The garden rooms include a few specialty gardens such as the Governor's School Woods and the Falls Cottage Garden. Falls Park even has a historical background. The area used to be hunting grounds for Cherokee Native Americans. White settlers didn't appear in the area until the year 1773. Ownership of the twenty six acres that makes up Falls Park has exchanged hands several times in history. The city, federal government, and individual donors have coordinated to restore this historical site. Falls Park is a recent development and a worthy tourist attraction.
