Charlotte, NC city questions

Is Charlotte a city worth visiting?I've been to the Charlotte airport on numerous occasions for a stopover, but haven't actually experienced the city first hand. Every time I arrive in Charlotte, I'm always curious to know what the city is like. Is Charlotte a city worth visiting for someone in their 30's? What are the restaurants like? Is the nightlife good? Are there many museums/attractions in Charlotte? Are the people friendly? Maybe next time I won't just be stopping over in Charlotte, I'll actually get to experience the city outside of the airport!
