Belleville is a good place to live. Belleville Lake has seven miles of shoreline and is great for water sports and fishing. The lake is a hidden Wayne County treasure. The city is located 20 miles from Ann Arbor (University of Michigan) and it has half the taxes and the cost of living is way lower. Downtown Detroit is 25 minutes, Detroit Metro Airport is 10 minutes and Ypsilanti (Eastern Michigan University) is 10 minutes away. You are close to Canton and other areas west of Detroit. Shopping, restaurants and plenty of parks are close by. (Note: I cannot comment on the public education system since we do not have children of school age.)
This town is complete trash. The cops harass you for picking up pop cans, the churches don't want to help anyone but themselves, the homes look like slums, the whole town is one big Ghetto. All the people in the town are big and fat and throw their trash on the side of the roads and run over animals. The town caters to drunks. There are four bars on the same street right next to each other. Then the drunks go flying up and down the roads. Everyone looks down on you for walking because they are big and fat.
