I really liked the area after coming here while working at a nearby client back in 2018. A few months later, I started to look and found Conroe to be a nice town, clean, many new developments, plenty of hospitals nearby and everything you need is within 10 minutes dr ...Read More ive pretty much. Plenty of forested areas on the west side, quiet neighborhoods, great infrastructure (no public transport though). Overall, it's a great place to live, affordable compared to most places in the country. It's about an hour to downtown Houston by car. I would give it a 5 star rating if only there were some small market nearby where one could pick up a fresh loaf of bread, milk and eggs, but you can only get these basics at one of the bigger supermarkets, which is about a 10 minute drive away. For the past three years I have lived in Conroe, Texas and I have enjoyed the suburban lifestyle which many consider the best kept secret in Houston.

Many who are residents ...Read More of Houston have known Conroe as a sleepy two road town one passes on their way to along Interstate 45 to Dallas from Houston. Unless you were born in Conroe, there would be little reason to stop by. In the past 20 years, the landscape of Conroe has changed with the new expansive commercial, residential and retail development along interstate 45. In the area just five miles south of Conroe, the commercial and retail hub of the Woodlands provides residents access to one of the signature malls in the Houston area as well as one of the most revered housing communities in the Houston Area. Everything one needs to enjoy the city life is right here in Conroe. I have my option for a number of dining establishments including P.F. Chang's, The Cheesecake Factory, Morton's Steakhouse and Landry's Seafood House. I have direct access to my favorite stores including Jos. Banks, the Apple Store and Teavana where I can pick up my favorite teas.


The only negative thing that I can say that I have experienced regarding living in Conroe is that if there is major road work or an accident on Interstate 45, it is very difficult to travel through the area as 45 is the major arterial. Conversely, for my frequent trips to College Station and Dallas, access to interstate 45 to head north bound is only a couple of minutes away. Read Less
